Short distances, gentle slopes and a ski area within walking distance: for a first skiing holiday with children, Schoppernau is a calm place to start.
Overview
Anyone skiing with children knows the problem: long walks to the piste, packed gondolas, skis on your shoulder. In Schoppernau that's not an issue. The Schoppernau Oberdorf stop is about 50 metres from the apartment, and the ski bus takes you straight to the Diedamskopf valley station from there.
The Diedamskopf is easy to find your way around. The runs are wide, it stays uncrowded even at weekends, and you don't lose sight of each other. On the Funslope children can ride off the regular piste for a while without it getting dangerous.
Our apartment is a partner of the Kinderschnee scheme. During the scheme weeks, children aged 3 to 6 take a four-day ski course for free if you stay with us for at least seven nights. In 2027 these are the weeks of 16 to 23 January and 6 to 13 and 13 to 20 March. You get the ski school voucher from us.
Back at the apartment you have 71.6 m² for two to five people, two bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen.

Frequently asked questions
The Bambini courses of the Au-Schoppernau snow sports school are for children from age 3.5. Your child doesn't need a lift pass in the practice area. Once they ski confidently, they move on to the "Ski Alpin Kids" courses on the mountain.
Yes. The Au-Schoppernau snow sports school is located between the Diedamskopfbahn valley station and the Ahorn button lift. You can reach the ski school on +43 5515 2133 or office@skischule-schoppernau.com.
There is a rental shop right at the valley station.
It has 71.6 m², two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony with mountain views. You can borrow a cot from us, and a heated boot dryer in the cloakroom dries ski boots and gloves overnight. If you need any other equipment for children, just ask us in advance.
The Franz Michael Felder Museum is in the village, and the Baroque Master Builders Museum is in neighbouring Au. At the Werkraum Bregenzerwald in Andelsbuch, local craft businesses show their work.
